My heart wants roots
My mind wants wings
I cannot bear
Their bickerings.
~ E.Y. Harburg

September 21st is International Peace Day.  I’m celebrating.  I have decided that, like New Years, I will have peace resolutions.  This year I am going to work on my inner peace, as cliché as it sounds.  I have to start somewhere and if I am going to pursue any aspect of conflict resolution in my life, then it is really the only realistic place to begin…..

#2 of father/daughter art project.

In the process of relocating myself to Denver I am reorganizing, updating, backup-ing, and refreshing my life.  Part of the process has been going through the literally 5,000 photos my dad took while he was in Kenya in 2008.  My dad loved photography.  In fact, I owe it to both him and my sister, Megan, for giving me my first photographic visions and a camera to capture them.

So, here is the first father/daughter art project I am undertaking.  I wish more than anything he was around to help me sort through all of the images!

Oh, it doesn’t have a title, yet.  Though, in honor of my Dad, my sisters, my mom, and to celebrate International Peace Day this week I will start my project off with the words of Henry David Thoreau, “There is no remedy for love but to love more.”
