I took this photo when I was days from telephone lines and running water. I find it incredible that the wife of the chief is wearing a No Stress t-shirt.  AND, it really fascinates me how American clothing brands have found their way to the remotest corners of the earth.  AND, even more so, which shirts.  I really wish that I would have asked her how she got the shirt, how long she has had it, and what she thinks of it.  It has to be a good story…

MyRockheART

MY rock heART that I found in AlaskA

LeadvilleLeadville, Colorado.  It is the highest incorporated town in North America: 10,200 feet.  In 1893 reached its peak of 60,000 residence, including the Unsinkable Molly Brown, Jesse James, and Horace Tabor.   Could you imagine the night life?  I lived just outside this town for a summer and while Mount Massive and Elbert are still there… it isn’t how it once was.

Drive In

Call me a hopeless romantic, but I absolutely love drive-in movie theaters.  I love them because you sit in your car, which just feels romantic, and you get to watch two movies, so they are economical.  What could be better and more American?  Granted, the last time I went to one was in Colorado Springs sometime around 1995 (rough estimate) and I know one of the movies was a romantic comedy with Nicolas Cage and winning the lottery with a random waitress at a diner.  And yes, that does mean it has been 14 years, and no it doesn’t seem like that long ago.  I don’t remember the name, but I am sure you know what movie I am talking about.  I also can’t help myself and wonder when we will come full circle with this one and revive them?  I will be waiting, even if I don’t have a car.
