The Transamazonica, BR-230, traverses 4,830 km of Brazil’s interior. The dirt highway was inaugurated in 1972, and has since formed the backbone of both the economic development and destruction of Amazonia.
The mato isn’t so grosso anymore in Amazonia. In fact it is hardly there.
If I could take all of my newly acquired friends home with me, I would. The only catch is: I have no physical home to take them. So, I take photos of them, scratch their sweet spots, and occasionally slip them some food. Good luck little fellows, safe travels!
