Some things never change and some things are always changing. However, rides in the country with my grandpa (Ed Hollstein) and his dogs are both and consequently, just are. There are always constants: the purpose of the ride, the Cadillac, dogs, my grandpa, the country. Yet, each ride is an entirely different adventure.
The following photos are from two trips, one in March 2007 and the other in June 2008. Jackie Girl has since “replaced” Gracie (which is a story entirely of it’s own), and well the rest can be found in the images. Some things just are.
This is my grandpa, Ed Hollstein. He is 95 years old, drives a Cadillac, and lives in Rushville Nebraska. He has two dogs: Scottie (the destroyer) and Jackie Girl.

Brooke, What a wonderful collection of images. All of them are so real and make me feel like I’m right there in Rushville. Also, they truly captured the experience of visiting Grandpa. Thank you.
The photos from 07 and 08 are great. One travels a lot to see Grandpa, from the Badlands to the Obermiller place. Good memories, particularly of the Destroyer, although Scotty has become more melancholy. Maybe we all have. Anyway it was nice to view the slide show. Love Dad
